Under the "hit of time" most of all falls the skin, the fatty body of the cheek (Bish's lump) and the superficial musculoaponeurotic system (we call it SMAS).
And it is natural that people at all times wanted to look younger and did not want to put up with age-related changes, so the issue of a facelift was only at a time when this operation would be technically possible and facial tissues would be sufficiently studied.
Facelift (or rhytidectomy) is a plastic surgery aimed at eliminating the natural signs of aging in the face and neck area. With the help of this operation it is possible to reduce nasolabial folds, smooth out wrinkles on the cheeks and neck, tighten the skin, restore the contour of the face oval, sharpen the jawline, and get rid of "bulldog cheeks". It must be remembered that circular tightening does not affect the natural aging processes of the skin, it only reduces their visible manifestations. The operation is performed on both women and men.
Circular facelift
This technique allows you to correct age-related changes in all areas of the face. A circular facelift is performed through incisions in different parts of the face, which allows for a complete facelift. A facelift using this technique provides a significant correction of wrinkles and folds, tightens the oval of the face, makes its contour clearer.
Midface lift
Midface lift is a fairly popular operation, as it allows you to work with nasolabial folds, sagging tissues on the cheeks, wrinkles in the cheekbones and lips, lowered corners of the eyes, while not injuring other areas.
Lower face lift
Lower face lift provides correction of sagging cheeks, softens nasolabial folds, eliminates defects in the contour of the chin and, if necessary, the neck.
SMAS - lifting
This is a facelift that affects not only skin tissues, but also the musculoaponeurotic system. Lifting the facial muscles allows you to achieve excellent results and provides total rejuvenation. A facelift using this technique eliminates even serious age-related changes, deep wrinkles, pronounced folds, volumetric sagging.
Endoscopic forehead lift
The main advantage of the technique is based on the use of endoscopic equipment, which reduces the amount of intervention and trauma, as well as eliminates the appearance of noticeable scars. Mini-incisions, sufficient to insert the endoscope into the area of correction, are hidden on the scalp, under the hair. Endoscopic facelift is very popular among patients, as it allows to reduce rehabilitation and the volume of interventions, providing a decent result and the absence of visible scars.
Neck lift
The surgeon can supplement the operation with a plastic surgery of the superficial neck muscle (platysmaplasty). An incision is made, excess subcutaneous fat and skin are removed. In some cases, an isolated neck lift may be performed. In this case, incisions are made only in the chin area and around the earlobes.
Brow lift
is an aesthetic operation that corrects the position of the eyebrows and tightens the skin on the forehead in order to give the eyes and face a more youthful appearance. Very often, a browlift is performed in conjunction with eyelid surgery.

Circular facelift is a complex plastic surgery that includes rejuvenation of the upper, middle and lower parts of the face. A circular lift is prescribed when age-related changes appear in all zones and deep wrinkles and sagging skin are pronounced. Facelift includes: eyebrows and forehead area, cheeks and midface, the lower third of the face, chin and neck. Facelift allows you to remove obvious signs of aging, rejuvenates, tightens the skin, and makes it smoother and more toned. Thanks to lifting, you can look younger than your age.
This is a more modern technique that allows not only to eliminate wrinkles and sagging, but also to correct the oval and relief of the face. The essence of the operation is skin tightening, which is combined with the movement of muscle tissue. While a conventional circular lifting only affects the skin, SMAS lifting captures deeper structures, and therefore the effect lasts much longer. In addition, after SMAS lifting, the face looks natural, there is no effect of skin tension, changes in the line of the mouth and the shape of the eyes. The stitches are removed after 10-12 days. The result can be assessed in 1.5–2 months, and it lasts for at least 12–15 years.
This is the least traumatic facelift method. In an endoscopic facelift, the doctor makes small incisions along the hairline through which the soft tissue is moved to the desired location and fixed. There are different types of structures for lifting different areas - forehead, eyebrows, cheekbones, etc. During the operation, not only the skin is tightened, but also the muscles. After the operation, drainage tubes are inserted into the holes, and a compression bandage is applied to the face, which will have to be worn for at least 2 weeks. As with any surgical lifting, edema is observed after endoscopic surgery, but it will last for a long time - up to 6-7 weeks. Sometimes a slight swelling is noticeable even 2-3 months after surgery. Full recovery takes 3–3.5 months. But the effect is long lasting - up to 15 years.
This is a facelift using minimal incisions, used to correct sagging and deformities caused by aging, mainly in the midface area, chin and neck. The incisions are hidden within the natural folds and hairline so that no visible scars remain. After this facelift surgery performed with sedatives without the need for general anaesthesia, the person will look 10 years younger.
A “classic facelift” treats sagging and loose skin in the lower third of the face and the neck. A mid facelift treats the middle third of the face, the cheek-temple area. A neck lift addresses sagging in the jaw line and the neck separately from the upper fac
Neck lift surgery is a surgical procedure in which all of the neck skin, subcutaneous fat and muscle tissue is stretched and excess tissue removed to correct wrinkles, sagging, and loosening in the neck area. Neck lift surgery can be performed alone or in combination with a facelift, blepharoplasty, facial fat injections, botox and fillers as needed. In this way, you can achieve more successful results. The operation is performed on both women and men.
Cervicoplasty is a surgical procedure in which excess skin is excised in the chin and neck area. The reason for the appearance of excess tissue can be age-related changes, impaired collagen production, and weight loss.
Platysmoplasty is an operation to tighten the flat cervical muscle, which can relieve the patient of excess adipose tissue and its sagging, as well as rejuvenate the skin of the cervical zone.
Endoscopic lifting (lift) is a minimally invasive surgery performed with access from the chin cavity. During the operation, the tissues are gently peeled from the muscles, redistributed and fixed in a new position using self-absorbable sutures.
Facelift is suitable for patients with vertical wrinkles on the cheeks, with pronounced, deep nasolabial folds, laxity, sagging skin on the face and neck, with an indistinct facial contour, who have generally good health, does not smoke and have realistic goals and expectations.
Facelift is not suitable for patients with infectious diseases, cancer, blood clotting disorders, diabetes mellitus in the stage of decompensation, cardiovascular diseases.
The maximum effect after surgery can be expected if the Facelift is performed at a certain age. The most common age group is people in their 50s and 60s. Before the operation, the doctor takes into account not only the age, but the structure and elasticity of the patient's skin. A circular tightening should be performed when the sagging of the skin on the neck and face has already become very noticeable (aptosis). With age, tissue elasticity decreases sharply, therefore, most often a very noticeable sagging of the skin occurs in the lower third of the face, at the level of the lower jaw and in the neck area under the chin. The effect after surgery lasts for 8 to 10 years.
Facelift is not covered by insurance.
Complications of a facelift include hematomas (the most common complication), scar hypertrophy, skin telangiectasia, suture inflammation, hyperpigmentation or hypopigmentation, cutaneous necrosis, nerve damage, temporal lobe alopecia, epidermalysis, seromas, wound failure, hypertrophic scars, and contour irregularities infections.
The effect after surgery lasts for 8 to 15 years depending on method.
The first results are visible in a month, but the final result will be only in 3–6 months.
The stitches in front of the ears will be removed 4-6 days after the facelift surgery. If you had an incision under your chin, these stitches will also be removed 4 to 6 days after your facelift surgery. The staples in the hair and the stitches behind the ear are removed 9-12 days after the facelift surgery.
On the second day after the operation, the drainage is removed, the first dressing is performed and a special compression bandage is put on the head. It is necessary to sleep on your back on 2-3 pillows in order to raise your head above the body. In the first days after the operation, swelling of the face and eyelids is observed, bruising may occur, the temperature may rise to 38 º. These are normal postoperative events. Therefore, especially in the first 4-5 days, it is recommended to observe a gentle regimen, do not turn your head sharply, exclude physical activity, and apply cold compresses to your face and eyelids. Postoperative pain is usually minimal. Shampooing is possible after 4 - 5 days. The compression bandage can sometimes be removed during the day 10 days after surgery. Removal of stitches (if the stitches were not absorbable) occurs after 6 - 14 days, depending on the complexity of the operation. Physical activity is possible one month after the operation. 3 weeks after your surgery, you should do the massages recommended by your doctor. Make-up can be applied no earlier than 14 days after surgery. Sports can be started 4-5 weeks after the surgery. The sauna and solarium are prohibited for the first 2-3 months. High sun protection cream and sunglasses should be worn on the seams. Usually, complete scar stabilization takes place within one year after surgery.
Most doctors do not recommend returning to training earlier than a month after the operation - the stitches should heal and tighten properly.
Stitches are removed on 6-8th day on frontal area of the face and 10-12th day if there are stitches under the hairy area and behind ears.
The operation is performed on both women and men.
Since the procedure is performed under general or local anaesthesia, the patient does not experience any pain during the operation. In the first few days after the operation, slight pain may occur, but this can be treated well with conventional painkillers.

Typically, a facelift incision is located in the temporal region, in front of the ear tragus - a small cartilaginous protrusion on the front of the auricle, then hidden in a deep natural fold of skin behind the ear, and ends in the hair. As a rule, such seams are hardly noticeable after a couple of days after the lift, and after a while, the scars disappear altogether, leaving the whole face young and smooth.
